So…what, exactly, is the vaccine and how does it work?
That’s the question on a lot of people’s minds these days.
I wanted to share with you a podcast episode that I found really helpful…
It explains the science behind the COVID vaccine in a simple, easy-to-understand way. So you don’t need to be a science expert to get the gist!
Here’s the episode👇
The Real Story About COVID Vaccines: What We Know, What We Don’t
I recommend you have a listen.
The podcast talks about the development of the vaccine…
And how the vaccine works to stop a severe reaction or death from the COVID virus.
The experts emphasize that the vaccine is not a cure, nor does it make anyone immune.
They give a lot of examples and explanations, which make this complex topic easier to understand.
Long story short?
What We Know: Science and the COVID Vaccine
Buckle in, folks…it may be many years before we can go back to our world as it was prior to 2019!
The other takeaway: the science behind gaining control over COVID is always evolving – new research is coming out each day.
It’s up to us to stay informed and decide how best to care for ourselves and each other.
And the same is true for cancer care.
A massive amount of new cancer research comes out each day…and that’s what CTOAM’s cancer experts spend 24/7 keeping up-to-date on! Cancer treatments are evolving all the time.
And that’s great news, because it means there are very likely more options than what you think you have or what your doctor has told you is available to you.
You likely already know – from reading my emails and just from educating yourself – that there are many treatment options already approved by the FDA and Health Canada beyond chemotherapy and radiation.
You just need to make sure you get properly tested (using comprehensive genetic testing) to see if you’re a fit for one of literally hundreds of possible new options.
And that’s great news, because it means there are always more treatment options than what you think you have.
To put it another way: there are always more options than what your doctor can offer you!
Your doctor simply needs the help of our research scientists to get the necessary proof that a certain new treatment would benefit you more than standard treatment. That’s all.
Ultimately…whether it’s COVID or cancer care, the message remains:
Knowledge is power.
You need to know what the missing links are in your care…and how to fill them! And that’s what CTOAM is here for.
